With many old buildings and a relaxed traditional feel, the town is well stocked with a good variety of boulangeries, patisseries and other small shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants. On Saturday mornings the weekly market fills the streets with a lively atmosphere and provides the perfect excuse to sit back with a coffee and watch the world go by. Moncoutant also has an excellent swimming pool and lovely riverside walks.
La Rochelle, Poitiers and Nantes airports are around a 90 minute drive away, both are well served by budget air services such as Easyjet, Flybe, Jet2, Cityjet and Ryanair.. TGV trains also stop in the area.
